1998
Polar Jade™ mine reaches its highest annual output, 300 tons annual production.
1999
Polar Jade™ described as ‘the brightest, most translucent, hardest, greenest nephrite ever discovered” (Fred Ward).
2000
An 18-ton gem quality boulder of Polar Jade™ was discovered and named the “Polar Pride”. Half of the boulder was sold to a monastery and carved into a 9-foot tall jade Buddha.
2001
Another 10-ton gem quality boulder was discovered and carved into the “Emperor’s Sunrise”.
2008
The “Emperor’s Sunrise” was showcased at the entrance of the BC/Canada Pavilion during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
2009
Jade Buddha of Universal Peace made from the Polar Pride started touring the world and has attracted over 7.6 million visitors to date.
2015
Polar Jade™ remains to be the most sought-after BC jade on the market.
